What Restorative Dentistry Is
Restorative dentistry is the branch of dental care that repairs damaged teeth and replaces missing ones, restoring the bite you chew with. It covers crowns, bridges, root canals, fillings, dentures, and implants. The goal is to keep as much of your natural tooth as the tooth will allow.
Union Dental is an independent, family-owned private practice founded in 2018 by Dr. Leonardo Castillo. Restorative work is the biggest dental spend most people ever face, which is why it matters who is recommending it. Nobody here has a production target. We show you what is going on, go through the risks, benefits, and alternatives, and recommend only the work the tooth actually needs.
Union Dental is rated 4.9 stars across 475+ Google reviews, the highest rating among the top practices in the market.
Our process
Our Restorative Treatments in Las Vegas
Five treatments cover almost every restorative case. Your exam and X-rays decide which one belongs to your tooth.
Dental Crowns
A crown is a custom cap that covers a whole tooth to restore its shape and strength, used when a tooth is cracked, worn thin, heavily filled, or has had a root canal. We design crowns in-house on our own CAD/CAM equipment and fit them over 2 to 3 visits, with a one-week rush available. Read more about dental crowns in Las Vegas, including how we design and fit them.
Dental Bridges
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a replacement tooth to the healthy teeth on either side of the gap. It is fixed, you clean it in your mouth, and it takes 2 to 3 visits rather than several months. The honest comparison against an implant is on the page: see how we weigh dental bridges in Las Vegas against the alternative.
Root Canal Therapy
A root canal saves a tooth whose nerve is infected or inflamed, which is usually the tooth that wakes you up at night. Treatment takes 1 to 2 visits, and a crown is normally recommended afterward, 2 to 4 weeks later, to protect what is left. Learn how root canal therapy works and what recovery is actually like.
Dental Implants
An implant replaces a missing tooth at the root. A titanium post goes into the jawbone, fuses with it over several months, and carries a custom crown, so the teeth on either side are left alone. It is the standard for replacing missing teeth, and it is not right for everyone. See whether you are a candidate for dental implants in Las Vegas, and what the full cost looks like.
Dentures and Partials
When several or all of the teeth in an arch are gone, dentures and partials rebuild the whole arch rather than one tooth. We fit conventional, immediate, and implant-retained dentures, plus metal, acrylic, and flexible partials, and we repair many breakages the same day. Here is how we fit and repair dentures and partials.

Which Restorative Treatment Do You Need?
Most people arrive knowing something is wrong and not knowing which treatment fixes it. This is the short version. It is a starting point for the conversation, not a diagnosis.
If the tooth is | The usual answer | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|
Several or all teeth gone in one arch | Dentures, partials, or implant-retained dentures | Multiple visits |
Missing, and you would rather not reshape the neighbours | An implant | Several months |
Missing, with healthy teeth either side of the gap | A bridge or an implant | Bridge 2–3 visits, implant several months |
Painful or infected at the nerve | Root canal therapy, then a crown | 1–2 visits, crown 2–4 weeks later |
Cracked, worn thin, or heavily filled | A crown | 2–3 visits |
Decayed in one small area, otherwise sound | A filling | Usually a single visit |
What actually settles it is an exam and an X-ray: how much healthy structure is left, whether the nerve is involved, how the bone and gums around it are doing, and what you want to spend and how long you can give it. We show you the images, lay out every option with its risks, benefits, and alternatives, and you decide. If a cheaper treatment serves you better, we will say so.
